Dr. Alexander Golger, B.Ed., MD, FRCS(C), is a Toronto plastic surgeon. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and surgeons of Canada and serves as the Chief of Surgery at Lakeridge Hospital. Dr. Golger is also an assistant professor at Queen’s University in their Department of Surgery. He is the leading surgeon at Avenue Plastic Surgery in Toronto.
After earning his medical degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Dr. Golger completed a five-year residency at the University of Toronto in their Division of Plastic Surgery. Moreover, he is a staff plastic surgeon at Humber River Hospital in Toronto and Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa, and provides training to medical students at Queen’s University in Kingston. Dr. Golger is a member of the Ontario Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Golger contributes to various leading medical journals and continues to perform research in the field of cosmetic surgery. He is also asked to present his insights and knowledge at many national and international surgeons’ conferences.

I just had my 3 month check up with Dr. Oakley Smith after a long and challenging surgery. About 30 years ago I had surgery on my nose to remove a bump and about 10 years later I started having problems breathing. I just thought it was normal until it became so bad that I had to breath through my mouth when I slept. Eventually, I decided to seek the help of a specialist in this area but thought that the problem was related to a structural sinus problem. I researched 3 very good doctors in the Toronto area and met with all 3. It was during these visits that I found out that I had lateral wall collapse of my nose on both sides and that it likely was caused by the first surgery. The first doctor didn't think he could do anything to help me. The second said it would be a long complicated surgery but would probably help, but he said I didn't have enough of my own cartilage in the nose. That would mean he would have to take cartilage from behind my ear and possibly my rib. A last resort would be donor cartilage. The would make the surgery more complicated and prone to post-surgical problems. Dr. Oakley Smith was my last surgeon, and he quickly told me that he thought I had enough cartilage and wouldn't need donor etc. He was interested, frank when discussed the rate of success for this surgery, and kind. I wasn't sure if he just didn't notice the last of cartilage that the second surgeon had mentioned, but decided to go with him anyway based on his reviews. I am soooooooo glad! The surgery went fine. I had very little discomfort afterwards, and saw him at day 6 when he removed the cast etc. Not only did he repair the structural damage, but he reduced the projection of my nose by 6 mm, which is a lot! The length of my nose always bothered me so I was thrilled with that. Today he confirmed that it was looking great inside. I can breath like a normal person and I love the look of my nose also. Your nose is something that is hard to hide and it deserves someone who does nothing but rhinoplasty day after day. Thank you Dr. Oakley Smith! See you in 9 months!”

From the moment I called the office for a consultation, to a year post-surgery, Dr. Asaria and his team had been nothing short of outstanding. I had been contemplating rhinoplasty surgery for about 10 years, when I finally got the nerve to go ahead with it - I was extremely nervous about going under the knife. I called to schedule an appointment and the receptionist was very enthusiastic and helpful. She did explain that there is a $200 consultation fee, which could be used towards my surgery. Every surgeon charges a consultation fee, so this was not a surprise. During my consultation, Dr. Asaria did not rush me in any way. I must have had a hundred questions, and they were all answered thoroughly. I booked my surgery that day. On day of the surgery, Dr. Asaria and his team were so professional and caring, as it was clear that my nerves were getting the better of me. I was made to feel extremely comfortable and I knew I was in good hands. After surgery, Dr. Asaria and the nurse were there to ensure I was comfortable before being sent home. A follow up call that evening, as well as the day after was made to ensure I was ok. To keep this short, this level of care was kept up throughout the year during follow up visits so that the Dr. could make sure I was healing as expected and had no concerns. All in all, I felt virtually no pain after surgery - I did not even have to take pain killers. My nose healed beautifully, and I couldn't be happier. Be reminded that the healing process takes time. Mine took over a year to see the final results, but Dr. Asaria did the most incredible job! My nose looks natural, but just an improved version of my original nose. I can't thank him enough! Dr. Pirani is truly excellent at his craft. This review is super long time coming (I had my b.a in January), but I’m almost glad I waited because I think I love his work more and more each day. I had my breast augmentation in January and Dr. Pirani was as helpful, knowledgeable and friendly before, during and after the procedure. He was very informative with the risks, and spoke to me honestly about every step of my procedure. There was never a moment where I felt uncomfortable, awkward or left in the dark about anything. After extensive research on finding the best facial cosmetic surgeon to perform my rhinoplasty, I decided to go with Dr. Cory Torgerson. I flew down from Edmonton to Toronto for my surgery. I was very nervous, but during the consultation he did the 3D imaging of my new nose and I did like the results. I wish I could of had better communication at the consultation as I was having second thoughts about some of the features, but I trusted Dr. T and what he thinks is best for my facial features. I am now 2 weeks post op and at around 9 days I did not like my results, but I knew it was healing time and that it takes a year to see results. I am still trying to get used to my nose as its very different from my original one, but everyone tells me it looks perfect and that I look like a Barbie doll, which is not what I was going for but ok! :) I really hope I am happy in the end as right now its too hard to tell. Otherwise Dr T and his team were amazing through this entire process. Dr. Torgerson is an amazing person and he is a truly gifted surgeon. His staff was incredible especially Breanne and his nurse Mishelle. I will report back in a couple of months! :) Reporting back after 2 1/2 months - My nose is starting to look natural and beautiful. I am excited to see how it looks in the months ahead, this has been such a journey for me, but Dr. T said it would be a journey and I need to be patient. There is a tiny concern on one of my nostrils and the asymmetry its a smidge crooked, but probably due to swelling and because it's still in the healing process...Dr. T did a beautiful job on my nose thus far.
